AZ Chapters

If you are a veteran with PTSD in Arizona and would like to participate in the G4V program please reach out to one of local chapter leaders:

Phoenix, AZ

Anthony Taddei met with Robin Rio At ASU Music Therapy in Fall 2012.  Robin was one of the Music Therapist for ASU Music Therapy and a Professor there.  The partnership was born at that meeting that lead to the first graduating class in Spring of 2013. Some of the original graduates from the first couple of years still remain in contact with the program, and often perform at G4V events!
This year G4V Phoenix will go over 100 grads!  We have been very lucky over the years to have such great community support in terms of funding and in terms of hours and hours of time donated from guitarist and from ASU Music Therapy students working first under Robin, and now under Julie Hoffner.  We are the recipients of a grant from the Arizona Department of Veterans Services called the Veterans Donation fund, but every dollar we get that exceeds our need/capacity can go to another chapter.

West Valley, AZ

The West Valley, AZ Chapter of Guitars 4 Vets was founded in October 2017 by Adam McCray, a psychologist and Director of the West Valley Vet Center. Dr. McCray collaborated closely with Anthony Taddei and the G4V leadership team to create a new chapter to serve veterans who live in the western portion of the Phoenix metropolitan area and have difficulty traveling long distances to G4V lessons. In conjuction with the late Jolene Johnson, a retired music teacher who volunteered as the chapter’s first instructor, the first class of veterans graduated in December 2017. Since then, the West Valley chapter has welcomed Lee Partridge and Doug Peachey to G4V as guitar instructors. We offer both a Beginner’s group for those with very limited guitar experience and an Advanced Group for those who want to take their playing ability to the next level.
